Setting up Profiles
So you have successfully installed moBlog on your Windows Mobile (WM) device and want to give it a spin. But it keeps telling you that you have to create a profile first? Well, here’s how you can create profiles:
When moBlog is run, you are taken to the main window.
To create a profile, select: Menu -> Profiles. Profiles screen will load.
- Profiles: From Profiles drop down select “Create new profile”.
- Profile Name: Enter a name for the profile. This is the name that you are going to refer to this profile within moBlog. So you can give it any name you want.
- Provider: Select the blogging platform that yor blog is hosted on. It can be Blogger.com, Live Spaces or WordPress (both wordpress.com and wordpress installations on your own servers).
- Username: Give the user name that you use to login to your blog.
- For blogger.com this is the google account name which is usually your gmail.com email address that you use to login to your blogger account.
- For LiveSpaces this is your livespace name. For example my livespace is http://sampathdassanayake.spaces.live.com hence the username is sampathdassanayake
- For wordpress this is your username.
- Password: This is the password for your blogging account.
- For LiveSpaces, in order to enable posting from remote clients you need to enable email publishing and your password is the secret word that you have specified when you enabled email publishing.
- Author Name: This is the name to be used to sign your posts published from moBlog
- Blog Login (page) URL: This is needed only for wordpress blogs. You have to specify the url of the login page to your blog, whether it is wordpress.com or wordpress on your own server. For example, http://sampath.wordpress.com/wp-login.php. moBlog uses this url to determine the XML-RPC end point.
- Now click on Retrieve Blogs. This will trigger a connection to the Internet and attempt to retrieve a list of blogs associated with the given credentials. The retrieved blogs will be loaded to the Blogs drop down.
- Now select Options -> Save to save the profile.
Setting Up Proxy Settings:
Select Menu -> Settings from moBlog main window. This will load the settings window.
- If your connection to the Internet connects through a Proxy Server, select Connect through Proxy Server.
- Proxy Address. The address of the Proxy Server.
- Proxy Port: The port to connect through
- Username: Proxy user name. If no username is to be used, leave this blank.
- Password: Proxy password. If there is no password assigned, leave this blank.
- Domain: Proxy domain. If there is no domain, leave this blank

I have successfully installed the program on my HP ipaq rx 3115 (windows mobile 2003). However, when I choose to open the posts (menu -> open posts); I come up with the following bug:
“An Unexpected error has occurred in moBlog.exe. Select Quit and then restart this program, or select details for more information. Method not found: set_format system. Windows.Forms.DataGridTextBoxColumn”.
When I click on details buttom; the following information appeared:
“moBlog.exe
MissingMethodException
Mothod not found: set_format
System.Windows.Forms.DatagridTextBoxColumn.
at moBlog.frmPublishedPosts..ctor()
at moBlog.frmHome.mnuOpenPost_Click()
at
System.Windows.Forms.MenuItem.OnClick()
at
System.Windows.Forms.Menu.ProcessMenuProc()
at
System.Windows.Forms.Form.WnProc()
at
System.Windows.Forms.Control._InternalWnProc()
at
System.Windows.Forms.Application.Run()
at moBlog.Program.Main()
Then I have to quit the application. Then the application works on my ppc with the only function: compose entry and publish it immediately since I cannot open the draft or saved entry.
Plzz fix it for us,
Many thanks.

Since I read from those sources … http://www.smartdevicefreeware.com/moblog-mobile-blogging/
I think i does work on wm 2003 SE
. Actually i can work but not properly.
It’s quite funny to ask for 2003 version; I may need to buy another ppc since I love your app so much.
Thanks for your reply,
Viet.

Hi, sampath,
First of all, thanks for the moBlog. Nice piece of work!
I would like to report a problem that i’m having. I own a domain, which i’ve installed wordpress. The blog works fine, except in moBlog. If I configure it for ‘wordpress.com’ blogs, it works nicely. But if I configure for my domain (http://incongruencia.com.br/wp-login.php), when I ask for retrieve blogs, it returns me that ‘there was an error’. If I save this profile anyway, when I get back to edit it, the ‘/wp-login.php’ from the URL is stripped.
Can you help me? TIA,
Leonardo

@incongruencia
Ive found the solution you need to set the setting in your blog
under
settings > writing (the last checkbox/boxes)
